PS10 Afterschool Theater
The PS10 After-School Theater Club provides 4th and 5th grade students the opportunity to bring stories to the stage. No, we don’t just teach theatre! Students work as a team to help build self-confidence, creativity, self-discipline, and presentation skills.
The program provides opportunities for students to explore and develop different theatrical skills such as voice, movement and creative imagination through games, and theatre activities. Students also learn acting basics as they rehearse for a big performance for classmates, teachers, friends and family!
The club meets on Thursdays after-school from 3:00–4:15 beginning in November and ending with performances in late April or early May. Due to high demand, the students are selected by lottery. Parents are asked to assist with set design, props, costumes, dance, choreography etc.
Ms. Bookman, Ms. Carroll and Mr. Simmons are the after-school theater teachers for the 2018-2019 school year.
